I-Bus Rolls Out Single Board Computer with the Hyper Threading

3/26/2003 - I-Bus Corp. announces the introduction of the StarRay II Single Board Computer, supporting the Intel® Pentium 4 processor with the Hyper ThreadingTM capability. The StarRay II is optimised for high-speed processing, supporting processors of 2.4GHz and above.

"StarRay II is ideal for customers looking for a competitive, high performance, high reliability CPU Board," said John Weller, General Manager of Europe." The outstanding architecture allows the board to be both flexible and highly reliable."

Like all I-Bus Single Board Computer products, the StarRay II is based on the standard PCI architecture, for use in passive backplanes, meeting all of the PICMG (PCI Industrial Manufacturers Group) requirements.

The StarRay II Incorporates the following feature set:

  • Two Double Dara Rate (DDR) sockets for up to 2 GBytes of 200/266MHz DRAM
  • 256/512K cache on the CPU module
  • Intel's 845 chipset with support for 400/533MHz front side bus speeds
  • The Intel 82551QM Ethernet controllers support both 10Mpbs and 100Mbps
  • SVGA AGP graphic controller with 64Mb share memory allows software MPEG/DVD decode
  • IDE, USB and bi-directional EPP/ECP ports
  • 5.25"/3.5" floppy drive controller
  • Two 16550 UART serial ports, PS2 keyboard and mouse connections
  • System monitoring derived from the Super IO ITE 8712F

The StarRay II supports a variety of operating systems, including DOS/Windows, Windows 95/98, Windows 2000, Windows NT and LINUX.
