ARTiSAN, EXTESSY Exchange Simulation Data with The MathWorks

3/26/2003 - ARTiSAN Software Tools, a global leader for UML-based, real-time systems and software modeling tools, and EXTESSY, an engineering and consulting firm specializing in the field of software-driven systems, announced an integration with EXTESSY's EXITE (EXtessy Inter Tool Engineering) product which allows software engineers to exchange simulation data between Real-time Studio Professional and The MathWorks' MATLAB/Simulink products.

The integration permits Control Engineers and Software Engineers to collaborate seamlessly on design projects. Software Engineers designing control software in UML can test against the simulated environment using a single, integrated solution. The integration of continuous and event-based behavior can be evaluated at an early stage, reducing the risk of costly problems later in the development process. EXITE offers RtS users model-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulations.

"EXITE is currently being used at Audi to bridge the gap between Real-time Studio and Simulink", said Hans-Martin Schulz, member of the board of EXTESSY AG. "Other major German automotive companies are also evaluating the tool chain as well."

Jeremy Goulding, President and CEO of ARTiSAN, commented, "ARTiSAN's integration with EXITE is purely market-driven; MATLAB and Simulink are found in the toolbox of most software engineers, and there has been a steady demand for an integration between Real-time Studio and The MathWorks' tools. We're impressed with the work that EXTESSY has put into their EXITE tool, and look forward to providing our mutual customers with an integrated solution."
