3/26/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) introduced three leading-edge solutions that help designers and manufacturers of optical and electrical components for wireline communications devices speed design to market and reduce cost of test.
"Notwithstanding a severe downturn in the economy, Agilent Technologies has proven itself again as the visionary leader in test and measurement, paving the way for the telecoms sector in the road to market recovery through its innovative solutions in wireline test," said Shekar Gopalan, vice president of research and consulting, Frost & Sullivan. "Agilent's strength lies in its broad range of solutions drawn on technology and methods from its experience in manufacturing test devices for products of many different technologies, such as electrical, optical and semiconductor. This allows Agilent to rapidly and cost-effectively tailor customized solutions that exactly meet its customer's requirements."
Agilent will introduce the following new test products at OFC, booth no. 2320:
The Agilent ParBERT generator with analyzer 13.5Gb/s modules, the industry's only solution designed for serial, multiple serial and parallel bit error ratio testing covering a frequency range from 500 Mb/s up to 13.5 Gb/s. The solution includes built-in, full differential input/output, clock data recovery (CDR), enhanced jitter capabilities, and a flexible, expandable architecture. Its unique test capabilities provide the best protection of investments in test instruments for 10 GbE and up to OC-192 devices and for high-speed communication ports for semiconductor products. The Agilent JS-1000 performance jitter test system, a complete, easy-to-use test system for R&D and design verification applications. The system features the lowest intrinsic jitter of any product of this class and provides diagnostic information that enables design improvements and characterization of devices within the 2.4 to 3.1 Gb and 9 to 13 Gb ranges. An optical amplifier test system, the market's only test product that offers a complete test set for all optical amplifiers and the modularity that allows price-sensitive customers to purchase "just enough test" to meet their needs. The system provides highly accurate TDE, TDE-Zero interpolation; ISS measurements on an open, extensible platform; and the latest test capabilities for metro applications, including transients and PDG. "When we design new test solutions, we develop each measurement until we have a fully satisfactory answer for our customers' needs," said Werner Huettemann, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Communications Network Solutions. "Agilent has become the largest test and measurement organization in the world by listening to customer feedback. We strive to help manufacturers design highly integrated network devices that reduce cost, embed intelligence, and ultimately enable network flexibility -- crucial factors that drive network innovation."
