VISTA Controls Awarded $1.6 Million Contract with Lockheed Martin

3/24/2003 - VISTA Controls, a Curtiss-Wright company and leading manufacturer of mission-critical systems for military and severe environment applications, has been awarded a $1.6 million contract for Enhanced Power Adapters (EPAs) and Enhanced Dual Power Adapters (EDPAs) that will be used in U.S. Army and Marine Corps Bradley Fighting Vehicles and HMMWVs. VISTA Controls was selected as the supplier by Lockheed Martin who is a prime contractor on the R2CSR program.

The EPA and the EDPA are the physical interface between the Enhanced Position Locating and Reporting System (EPLRS) and the power source. The EPLRS is an automated, secure radio communications apparatus that reports tactical information - including position, location and navigational data - from combat elements, such as armored vehicles, to tactical commanders in near real-time.

The VISTA Controls/Lockheed Martin contract was awarded utilizing the Rapid Response to Critical Systems Requirement Program (R2CSR), an agreement between government systems managers and select industry suppliers. The program streamlines acquisition of critical equipment by pre-identifying the engineering and manufacturing support required to sustain developed weapons platforms, communications, electronic warfare and information systems.

VISTA Controls, which will deliver 1,547 systems over the next year, will perform all contract work at its Littleton, Mass. operations center. The company has supplied over 8,000 EPAs and EDPAs to the U.S. armed services over the last 5 years.
