3/24/2003 - Accelent Systems Inc., a leading enabler of embedded devices, designed the new tri-wireless Personal Data Assistant (PDA) concept design based on Texas Instruments’ specifications. Code named “WANDA” for Wireless Any Network Digital Assistant, the new concept design is powered by TI’s OMAPTM processors, multiple TI wireless technologies, and Microsoft’s Windows-Powered Pocket PC operating system (OS). The industry’s first concept design to integrate wireless LAN, BluetoothTM and GSM/GPRS technologies, WANDA will enable simultaneous phone calls, web browsing, mobile commerce, Bluetooth-enabled capabilities, such as printing and headset listening, and accelerated multimedia applications.
"With its extensive software design and Pocket PC OS expertise, Accelent’s engineering services will be valuable in helping manufacturers get to market quickly with this robust new concept design based on TI’s OMAP platform.
