3/21/2003 - Anritsu Company introduces a series of Internet Protocol (IP) drivers for its MX785201A Protocol Test System (PTS) and MX785101A Virtual Signaling Test System (VST) that allows data and application testing to be performed in nearly any signaling environment or real-world scenario. The IP drivers provide manufacturers of 3G user equipment, network operators, and application developers to quickly and accurately test and verify that their applications will work in live networks.
By developing the IP modules, Anritsu is providing digital mobile developers with a cost-effective manner to ensure the performance of their products during development and production. Traditionally, tests such as roaming and inter-system hand-offs were done using live networks. Now, the MX785201A PTS and MX785101A VTS can easily conduct these tests, providing 3G developers with a fast, accurate, and cost-effective method to test and verify applications such as Web browsing, streaming video, and games.
Specifically designed to support rapid development of protocols for 3G user equipment, the MX785201A PTS provides an environment to exercise Layer 2 and Layer 3 signaling protocols defined with the 3GPP. The PTS platform enables the user equipment signaling protocol stack to be verified and validated.
The MX785101A VST supports the rapid development of protocols for W-CDMA 3GPP user equipment independently of Layer 1 Physical Link and RF sub-layers. It is a set of software components that executes on a PC with Windows 2000 or Windows NT. The protocol stack under development can reside on any machine that can be connected to the VST via TCP/IP.
