3/20/2003 - Mercury Computer Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) announced that Lockheed Martin Company has selected Mercury’s real-time RACE Series multicomputer systems for use in the Tactical Input Segment (TIS) of the U.S. Navy Joint Service Image Processing System-Navy (JSIPS-N) shipboard digital imagery system.
When fully deployed, TIS will provide Navy operators with a fast and flexible tool using shipboard networks to exploit imagery data collected from tactical sensors such as Global Hawk to improve the Navy’s response time for target identification. Lockheed Martin is under contract to develop the TIS system for the Navy.
