Extended Systems Meets FIPS 140-2 Level I Security Requirements

3/19/2003 - Extended Systems (Nasdaq: XTND), a leading provider of mobile information management solutions for the enterprise, announced that the security features of its mobile data synchronization and management software, XTNDConnect Server, now include RSA Security's BSAFE Crypto-C Micro Edition software, helping Extended Systems to meet the industry's stringent FIPS 140-2 level I security requirements.

The National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST), the government agency that certifies Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), has validated RSA BSAFE Crypto-C Micro encryption modules as FIPS 140-2 Level I certified. "RSA BSAFE encryption technology, along with the other important security components of XTNDConnect Server, gives us a competitive edge when working with Government agencies and other institutions that mandate FIPS 140-2 Level I validation."
