Bustronic Introduces Rear Extender Card For CompactPCI

3/14/2003 - Bustronic Corporation, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high performance backplanes, has announced a new 6U rear extender card for CompactPCI. The card allows rear I/O signals to be extended outside the chassis for prototyping and testing.

The 6U Rear Extender Card is compliant to PICMG 2.0 Rev. 3.0 specifications. It comes in a 6U x 180mm form factor and features a 12-layer stripline design. Injector/ejector latches with Elma Electronic's ergonomic handles provide easy insertion and removal of the cards. They also hold the board firmly to the chassis, increasing the reliability of the connections. This is done without the use of set screws, which can be inconvenient. Bustronic also offers front-loading CPCI test extender boards with test points for prototyping, which can be individually switch isolated. Other cPCI accessories include load boards for assuring a system's operating specifications and power interface boards for pluggable power options.
