3/13/2003 - Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of driver development software tools, announced that STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM) has selected Jungo's driver development toolkit, WinDriver, as its preferred driver development solution for ST's ST7 and ST9 based USB peripheral controllers. ST has already begun distributing WinDriver with its ST7 and ST9 Reference Design Kits, thereby enabling its customers to jump-start their driver development.
WinDriver enables fast development of high performance device drivers for USB 1.1 and 2.0 custom hardware devices under Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP and NT. WinDriver eliminates driver development bottlenecks, by providing a graphical development environment, intuitive Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), hardware diagnostic utilities and sample source code. The toolkit supports Control, Bulk, Interrupt and Isochronous data transfers, pipe reset and device reset operations and supports low, full and high speed devices. In addition, WinDriver provides extensions for developing HID based device drivers, relying on USB standards and operating system support.
"We are committed to providing our customers with innovative tools that speed up their product development process and enable them to focus on core technologies," said YU Lee, general manager of STMicroelectronics microcontroller division. "Jungo's solution will best serve our customers, providing them with an exceptionally user friendly tool that gives great out of the box experience and delivers top performance and operating system support."
"ST is key provider of semiconductor solutions with an extensive portfolio of USB controllers, providing real value to USB peripheral developers" said Ophir Herbst, general manager of Jungo's Software Tools Division. "ST's selection of WinDriver as its recommended tool for USB driver development, further reinforces Jungo's position as a leading provider of high-quality, reliable tools that simplify hardware access and driver development."
Full featured evaluation versions of WinDriver, KernelDriver and Hardware Debugger, Jungo's driver development and hardware access tools are available in ST's ST7 and ST9 USB general purpose evaluation kits.
