3/11/2003 - IONA®, the leading provider of Rapid Integration software (NASDAQ: IONA), announced a number of strong supporters from IONA's system integrator, reseller, and ISV alliance and partner network for the company's new Mobile OrchestratorTM.
The first member of IONA's new OrchestratorTM product family, Mobile OrchestratorTM increases the productivity of mobile workers by allowing them to interact with enterprise systems and applications with and without a network connection. The IONA® Mobile OrchestratorTM is the first product to provide an "Occasionally Connected Computing" solution and was developed in alliance with Intel® to support Intel's CentrinoTM Mobile Technology. For more information, see related release: IONA Unveils Mobile OrchestratorTM - the First Component of its Next-Generation Rapid Integration Solutions.
The IONA Mobile OrchestratorTM is available through IONA's network of ISV, OEM, Value Added Reseller and System Integrator alliance members and partners engaged in providing solutions that address the growing mobile computing, portal, and wireless market opportunities. IONA's Mobile OrchestratorTM will enable value-added services and technology partners to offer their customers such benefits as reduced total-cost of ownership, reduced risk and improved mobile workforce productivity.
"IONA's alliance members and partners include the very best in the systems integration, ISV and value-added reseller markets. Their enthusiasm about our new Mobile Orchestrator and the value it will help them provide their customers speaks volumes about the potential efficiency and ROI benefits this product can deliver" said Bob Potter, executive vice president of business operations at IONA.
The following are comments from IONA's alliance members and partners:
"As more workers are performing a significant part of their job outside the office, we are seeing a growing demand for enterprises to manage the associated costs effectively," said Bobby Soni, managing director and practice leader, technology integration at BearingPoint, Inc. "Implementing a mobile solution such as IONA's can help companies improve employee productivity and reduce costs."
"CSC helps clients from established Global 1000 and emerging companies to create and manage business processes that facilitate collaboration and innovation across the enterprise," said Mark Burgbacher, chief technology officer for CSC's Consulting Group. "While several technologies and solutions facilitate connections between people, computers and applications, most do little to improve productivity. IONA's new Mobile Orchestrator, and larger family of Orchestrator process integration products, dramatically enhances collaborative performance by providing an efficient and flexible solution based on an open platform that enables incremental technology investment for our clients."
"Macromedia believes great experiences build great businesses. On the Internet, effective experiences result in business success," said David Mendels, chief strategy officer, Macromedia. "Macromedia Flash enables great experiences on a wide range of mobile devices, bringing relevant, engaging information to consumers no matter where they are. IONA's new Mobile Orchestrator is similarly focused on breaking down the barriers that mobile users face. IONA's Mobile Orchestrator can work together with Macromedia Flash to provide seamless, effective experiences regardless of location or network connectivity."
"Increasing productivity is one of the most widespread goals of today's enterprise," said Michael J. Reuschel, president, Unisys Global Communications and Media. "A key to increasing productivity for our customers is allowing them to offer employees equal access to applications whether in the office or on the road. As an integrator of the numerous solution components needed to keep the mobile worker productive, Unisys believes that IONA's Mobile Orchestrator can play a vital role in providing the occasionally connected user with flexible access to enterprise applications regardless of network connectivity."
"Our value-proposition is enabling enterprises to achieve real-time advantage by rapidly building and deploying enterprise Web-based applications," said Ed Anuff, vice president of strategy, Vignette. "The concept of Occasionally Connected Computing as supported by IONA's new Mobile Orchestrator has the potential to make such enterprise Web-based applications intelligently and reliably available regardless of network connectivity, thus eliminating the obstacle of network latency and empowering application users to be equally productive whether in the office or on the go."
