3/6/2003 - Performance Technologies (Nasdaq NM: PTIX), a leading developer of embedded computing products and system-level solutions for the communications, industrial and military markets, announced it will hold a free, one day educational seminar entitled "Systems Design & Implementation Using PICMG® 2.16." The seminar will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Greenbelt Marriott in Greenbelt, Maryland.
The PICMG 2.16 standard enables equipment developers and system integrators to build systems that are faster, more scalable and more fault-tolerant than typical designs based on bus-based embedded architectures. Attendees will learn about the architectural features of PICMG 2.16 and receive information on critical design issues such as reduced complexity and costs, increased overall system reliability and performance, IP-based software development, and real-life design and implementation techniques.
Performance Technologies was the originator of the PICMG 2.16 CompactPCI®/Packet Switching Backplane architecture and contributes heavily towards the development of the upcoming CompactTCA and AdvancedTCA specifications. The company's comprehensive and unified PICMG 2.16 product offering includes chassis and Ethernet switches, system management functions, single board computers, network access products, communications software and SS7/IP signaling blades.
Performance Technologies will hold additional technology seminars over the coming months. For a full listing, visit the seminars page: http://www.pt.com/news/seminars.html. Register at http://www.pt.com/seminar_maryland.html
