3/3/2003 - The rollout of Intel® Pentium® 4 processor enables most applications equipped with unparalleled computing power to satisfy the requirements of today's multitasking business environments. The search for an ideal Gigabit platform that manifests the superiority of Pentium 4 processor capability has thus become a major concern in communication appliances.
Based on Intel processor and ServerWorks chipset, Portwell Inc, a leading communication appliance provider, announced an industry-leading communication server platform, the NAR-5070, targeted for the fast-emerging communications appliance market. The NAR-5070, integrating Intel Pentium 4 processor and ServerWorks Grand ChampionTM - SL (GC-SL) chipset within a 1U rack-mount server, offers high processing capability, high data transfer capacity as well as cost-effectiveness, which outperforms other peers consequently.
Aiming to serve as an ideal communication appliance platform, NAR-5070 is designed to accommodate up to seven Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, among which two are 64-bit and five 32-bit. Various combinations of Gigabit Ethernet, such as four 64-bit Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, are available to satisfy diversified application requirements. In addition to Gigabit Ethernet flexibility, it further enhances its capability with its support for two PCI expansion slots. Built on the dual bus, NAR-5070 offers higher expandability, such as encryption acceleration, wireless, or even more Ethernet interfaces, at no sacrifice of speed hold down.
Beside the outstanding bandwidth handling and CPU processing capability, NAR-5070 also features LCD display/keypad, loading factory-default mechanism, redirect-to-console BIOS, front access, etc. With proved thermal solution, CE/FCC/UL safety certification, shock and vibration verification, NAR-5070 serves as a stable, reliable and complete hardware platform, allowing our customers to minimize their efforts to deploy products to market.
