2/25/2003 - Applied Data Systems (ADS) and OSIsoft, Inc. have agreed to work together in a strategic partnership to provide data acquisition and historian solutions. The partnership will concentrate on providing FDA-compliant solutions that include the OSIsoft ECHO Embedded Component Historian Object software for developing data historians and the entire line of ADS single board computers.
An ECHO data historian can archive automatically collected data at rates in excess of 800,000 variables per second and provides equally rapid retrieval of locally stored data for immediate analysis and troubleshooting. It comes with features and documentations required by the FDA's 21 CFR Part 11 regulation for developing audit tracking solutions with electronic signatures.
"ADS' embedded-critical solutions are significantly optimized through the collaboration of our expertise in StrongARM and XScale-based SBC's with OSIsoft's industry leading technology in data acquisition and archiving," said Bob Olsen, president/CEO of ADS.
"OEMs and developers who work with us will be afforded-in addition to state-of-the-art computing hardware-a ready-to-connect interface to the PI System, the world's leading enterprise information infrastructure," commented Matt Miller, manager of OEM Sales and Marketing for OSIsoft. He noted that a joint marketing program is planned and that OSIsoft and ADS intend to target joint opportunities.
Founded in 1980, OSIsoft is headquartered in San Leandro, CA, with affiliate offices worldwide. With over 10,000 of its PI Systems installed worldwide, OSIsoft is the leading provider of real-time information management systems to the manufacturing industries.
