2/24/2003 - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) announced that its DevPartner Studio and TrackRecord products each received Visual Studio Magazine Readers Choice Awards during Fawcette Technical Publication’s VSLive! 2003 San Francisco conference last week.
DevPartner Studio Professional Edition took top honors, winning the Readers Choice Award in the “Performance, Profiling and Debugging Tool” category. TrackRecord was honored in the “Bug and Feature Tracking Tool” category, receiving the Readers Choice Merit Award.
The Readers Choice Awards are chosen by Visual Studio Magazine readers — developers who use Visual Studio .NET development tools on a daily basis — who vote for the winners in 23 development categories. The products receiving awards represent the readers’ choice for the best and most innovative in Visual Studio .NET development as well as product excellence and practical value.
Visual Studio Magazine presented three awards in each development category: Readers Choice Awards, given to products that received the most readers’ votes; Readers Choice Merit Awards, presented to products receiving a high number of votes that also show real value to Visual Studio Magazine readers; and Editors Choice Awards, given to products that show special merit or innovation but don’t fit comfortably into the standard categories.
“We are honored to be recognized with these Readers Choice Awards, especially because they are chosen by Visual Studio Magazine readers,” said Shari Zedeck, Director of Product Management for the Compuware DevPartner and DriverStudio product families. “Winning these awards is an important indicator that the developers who use development and testing tools on a day-to-day basis believe that DevPartner Studio and TrackRecord provide them the most value in building reliable and high-performing applications for the Microsoft .NET Framework.”
DevPartner Studio Professional Edition is uniquely equipped to help developers implement the most reliable and high-performing Microsoft Visual Studio .NET applications, Visual Studio 6.0 applications or applications that combine components from both environments. The product seamlessly integrates into the Visual Studio Integrated Development Environments. DevPartner Studio not only finds errors and performance bottlenecks in code, but also explains how the errors can be resolved and points developers to resources on the Web for further information. The result is improved confidence in application reliability, as well as skill improvements that benefit both the developer and the enterprise over the long-term.
“The most significant aspect of these awards is the fact that they are voted on by the readers, not determined by the editors,” said Patrick Meader, Editor-in-Chief at Visual Studio Magazine. “Bug and feature tracking and performance, profiling and debugging tools have always been of critical importance to our readers. Winning this award means that the developers who use Visual Studio .NET day-in and day-out believe your company’s products provide them the most value in terms of getting their jobs done.”
