2/18/2003 - mBalance, the leading provider of innovative messaging infrastructure for Mobile Operators, and Sun Microsystems have been selected by O2 Netherlands to deliver the mBalance TextPass[tm] Intelligent SMS Monitoring, Statistics and Routing solution.
The TextPass[tm] SMS monitoring and intelligent routing solution provides O2 Netherlands with both real-time SMS traffic statistics and allows instantaneous intervention to maintain high Quality of Service (QoS). The mBalance SS.7 software products broaden the range of innovative SMS messaging services offered by O2 Netherlands while using Sun platforms to deliver this technology.
Marien van Ouwerkerk, Managing Director and co-founder of mBalance, clarifies: "We are very proud that O2 Netherlands has selected mBalance to prepare the O2 Netherlands-network for the new SMS challenges that GSM operators are facing today. Interactive SMS and TV voting applications are not only putting a lot of performance pressure on the SMS Centres, they also makes monitoring and statistics even more important than for traditional SMS traffic." He continues: "mBalance is defining the new generation of SMS infrastructure technology. The TextPass[tm] routing and network querying solution is clearly setting an industry standard as the most comprehensive platform to support and enhance SMS text messaging services".
A Sun Microsystems spokesperson adds: "This new SMS technology enables Sun to fulfil our customer's increasingly demanding and innovative requirements for messaging solutions. This is demonstrated by our partners, like mBalance, who are developing state-of-the-art SMS messaging solutions based on our carrier-grade Netra platforms and Sun cluster technology."
