2/12/2003 - WaferYield Inc., a provider of semiconductor software tools for yield improvement, has announced that Chris Seams, Executive Vice President of Technology & Manufacturing at Cypress Semiconductor (NYSE: CY), has joined its board of directors.

Chris Seams leads the process and assembly technology Research and Development and all the manufacturing operations of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, including foundry and subcontractor relationships. Prior to joining Cypress in 1990, Mr. Seams held process development engineering and management positions at Advanced Micro Devices and Philips Research Laboratories.
Mr. Seams earned his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1984 from Texas A&M University and his Master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering in 1988 from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Seams is a senior member of IEEE and serves on the IEEE EDS Semiconductor Manufacturing Committee. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the International Symposium on Semiconductor Manufacturing. Additionally, Mr. Seams was appointed as Board Director for the following corporations: 1st Silicon, SunPower, Ronal Systems, and Silicon Magnetic Systems.
