VersaLogic Launches Wind Riverís VxWorks Board Support Package

2/10/2003 - VersaLogic Corp. announced the market launch of a Wind River VxWorks® real time operating system (RTOS) Board Support Package (BSP) for their popular VSBC-8 EBX single board computer. This release comes at the same time as an announcement of formal partnership between Wind River Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: WIND), a worldwide embedded software and services provider, and VersaLogic Corp., an award-winning embedded hardware manufacturer.

The Wind River Partner Program-certified BSP from VersaLogic will allow developers to configure their systems quickly, and develop applications in a shorter timeframe. The BSP supports the VSBC-8 Flash BIOS with OEM enhancements, a CPU temperature monitor interrupt, I/O options and other functions. More details about the VersaLogic BSP can be found on VersaLogicís web site at

VersaLogic used Wind Riverīs Tornado® 2.2 development tools to build, test and validate the BSP for the VSBC-8 single board computer.

Tom Barnum, VP of Sales and Marketing at VersaLogic noted, "By combining our high quality single board computers with one of the industryís most-widely recognized RTOSes, we can provide a package that will help our customers develop better end products in less time."

"We are pleased to partner with VersaLogic and incorporate their certified BSP into our recently announced online BSP online resource center," said Caroline Yao, director of partner solutions for Wind River. "VersaLogic offers customers a proven track record of engineering excellence in the embedded board market that dovetails well with Wind Riverís leading Tornado, VxWorks RTOS and WIND RIVER“ PLATFORMS. Through this partnership, customers can speed product development while reducing project risk."

The VSBC-8, a Pentium III EBX single board computer, is designed for long-life, high reliability applications. Target markets include military, aerospace, industrial control, and medical.

The VSBC-8 BSP is designed to be installed on top of Wind River's Tornado 2.2 integrated development environment (IDE) in a Windows host environment.
