2/10/2003 - Lantronix Inc. (Nasdaq: LTRX) announced the hiring of John Warwick as executive vice president of operations. Warwick, 37, will oversee all aspects of the company's operations, quality assurance, and IT infrastructure and applications management for the company's various device networking and console management product lines. He will report to Lantronix interim CEO and president, Marc Nussbaum.
"As we grow our business, further strengthening the operations side of Lantronix will be pivotal in helping us achieve leadership in customer satisfaction, particularly as we develop long-term relationships with key OEMs," said Nussbaum. "John's background ideally blends both process improvement and materials/operations management to drive down product lead times, deliver products with zero defects, and improve inventory turns, all of which will better enable the company to respond to ever-changing market demands and meet our business objectives."
Warwick has more than 14 years of experience in technology-based companies including hands-on contract manufacturing management roles as well as the design and deployment of systems to improve operational effectiveness. Most recently, he was with the business management-consulting firm of Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath (PRTM) where he held operations management roles at various companies. Prior to PRTM, Warwick held general management, manufacturing management, and materials management positions at AST Research, MGV International and Western Digital.
Warwick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, and certificate in production and inventory management from the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).
