Fujitsu Siemens Remains Number 3 in SME with 18% Growth

12/29/2003 - Fujitsu Siemens Computers provided further verification of how successful its sales and marketing strategy for the small and medium sized enterprise (SME) market has proven to be. Europe’s leading IT company outperformed the European SME market in the third quarter 2003, achieving 18 percent year-on-year growth in a market that expanded by only 3 percent, according to IDC revenue figures for sales of PCs and x86 (Intel-architecture) servers. According to the data, Fujitsu Siemens Computers holds the number 3 spot in this segment in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region with an 11 percent market share.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers has now outstripped the SME market for the eighth consecutive quarter. Over the most recent three-month period, it achieved growth in excess of market growth in Denmark, France, Greece, Netherlands Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Egypt, Israel, United Arab Emirates and South Africa. In the German market, where the company is number one in this segment, it achieved remarkable growth of 21 percent, while the market declined by 5 percent. Fujitsu Siemens Computers was thus able to improve its market share to reach 29 percent.

“The data reveals just how successfully we have been able to implement our SME program,” commented Bernd Bischoff, Executive Vice President Sales, Marketing and Customer Services. “With approximately 20,000 resellers and distributors, we have a broad partner network throughout Europe, and these partners know that we are committed to a 100 percent indirect sales strategy. We have deployed a highly effective channel infrastructure and harmonized our supply chain program for SME with pre-configured systems offering the best possible price-performance ratio. Our SME customers, who require above all outstanding regional service and value for money, really appreciate this. With the help of our partners, we have been able to address these needs and outshine the competition.”

Fujitsu Siemens Computers also managed to build on its progressive new advertising and marketing campaign, targeting primarily SME customers across the EMEA sales region. This campaign, centered on the needs of SME customers, highlights the responsibility of Fujitsu Siemens Computers as Europe’s leading computer company to translate these requirements into reliable, high-quality IT solutions.
