IONA Hosts OASIS Web Services Composite Application Framework Meeting

12/18/2003 - IONA® (NASDAQ: IONA), a world leader in high performance integration solutions for mission critical IT environments, hosted a two-day meeting of the OASIS Web Services Composite Application Framework (WS-CAF) Technical Committee at IONA's U.S. headquarters on December 3-4, 2003.

Among the agenda items discussed and approved was a schedule for WS-CAF specification updates and implementation, as well as proof-of-concept interoperability guidelines, beginning with an updated WS-Context specification and interoperability demo scheduled for April 2004. IONA’s CTO, and OASIS WS-CAF TC co-chair, Eric Newcomer, along with co-chair Martin Chapman of Oracle, lead the two-day meeting. Other member companies in attendance included Sun Microsystems, SeeBeyond, Attachmate, Cyclone Commerce, Arjuna, Choreology, Systinet, and Atomikos.

The purpose of the OASIS WS-CAF TC is to define a royalty-free, generic and open framework for supporting applications that contain multiple Web services used in combination (composite applications). The group has scheduled bi-weekly conference calls starting Monday, December 15, 2003.
