BearingPoint, Fujitsu Siemens Form Alliance to Help Customers Innovate

12/15/2003 - With the global economy in a cautious upswing, companies are anxious to ensure that they can continue to drive innovation and business models to capitalize on the growing market and to gain new business in 2004. BearingPoint and Fujitsu Siemens Computers unveiled an alliance designed to help customers maximize technology to enhance their specific business model. A December 2004 IDC study concludes that most IT providers need to understand how to solve their customers high-priority issues, provide solutions that meet these needs while helping the customer to understand how to use them. (IDC Insight: Predictions 2004) This alliance joins BearingPoint’s excellent knowledge of vertical markets and complex project management expertise with the broad IT infrastructure experience and offerings of Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Together, the companies have the skills to deliver outstanding IT solutions to their customers. The System Integrator relationship, reaching across Europe, Middle East and Africa, will enable fast development of proof of concept through to implementation of solutions for customers.

Implementing critical IT projects requires deep customer knowledge, an understanding of critical business issues facing businesses as well as skill, knowledge and experience in both technical aspects and business process. In developing this alliance, BearingPoint and Fujitsu Siemens Computers used their experience to focus on demonstrated methods designed to increase innovation and reduce customer risk in addition to the classic need to increase productivity gains and cost efficiency.

To illustrate, the move to mobility solutions for customers is driven by the need to interact more closely and more frequently with customers. Being mobile involves more than implementing mobile devices into an IT infrastructure. The future of mobile business requires full understanding of the customer business and needs, how and where employees need to work and how to best maintain customer contact all while keeping data secure. A jointly developed mobile solution was presented on the SAP Microsoft Congress in Berlin and the annual Fujitsu Siemens Computers OCTOBERFESTival in Augsburg.

The alliance is mainly structured to provide customers innovative solutions. It will also allow both parties to resell each other’s products and services, offer joint training and customer seminars, which is expected to provide business growth for both companies. In addition, the alliance will be supported through joint marketing and communications activities. The alliance starts with the organizations in Germany in December 2003 and will roll out to the other EMEA countries throughout 2004.
