Hitachi Systems & Services to Provide Reasoning’s Inspection Services

12/15/2003 - Reasoning, the leading provider of automated software inspection (ASI) services, announced that Tokyo-based Hitachi Systems & Services, Ltd. (Hitachi SAS) will become a full service provider of Reasoning’s inspection services. Under the terms of the agreement, Hitachi SAS will resell Reasoning’s ASI services, perform inspections and analysis, and support all Japan-based customers from its inspection center in Nagoya, Japan.

The extended agreement enables Reasoning to enhance its sales and support infrastructure to better meet demand, while enabling Hitachi SAS to better support its customers. As part of the expanded relationship, Hitachi SAS staff underwent extensive training and certification for the delivery of ASI services at Reasoning’s headquarters. Through Hitachi’s proven sales, marketing and account management, the two companies expect the demand for ASI services to grow throughout Asia.

"Hitachi Systems & Services, Ltd. seeks to continually raise the industry standard with the innovative services we design for our customers. This agreement with Reasoning enables us to do just that and reflects our commitment to expand our expertise through leading-edge products, alliances, and partnerships. We look forward to growing our partnership with Reasoning," stated Executive Officer of Hitachi Systems & Services, Ltd. Yoshihiko Saiki.

“Over the past few years, Reasoning has enjoyed a successful working relationship with Hitachi Systems & Services, Ltd. and we look forward to our continued collaboration. We’re pleased to elevate our relationship to the next level as both companies share a similar commitment to raising the bar on software quality and reliability,” commented Reasoning’s President & CEO, William Payne.

Advantages of Automated Software Inspections
In his book, “Winning with Software,” noted software expert Watts Humphrey spells out how the cost of finding and fixing defects increases at every step in the development process. By incorporating ASI early in the software development cycle and at critical intervals in the development process, companies can reduce costs and speed time-to-market as the manual, iterative process of defect detection can be minimized between developers and QA. With fewer software defects and malfunctions, product security, reliability and quality increase, improving customer service and satisfaction.
