Storage Performance Council Welcomes Texas Memory Systems

12/15/2003 - Texas Memory Systems, Inc., manufacturer of the World’s Fastest Storage", announced its membership in the Storage Performance Council (SPC). The SPC is a vendor-neutral standards body founded to define, standardize, and promote storage subsystem benchmarks as well as to disseminate objective, verifiable performance data to the computer industry and its customers.

“The SPC is pleased to welcome Texas Memory Systems to its membership roster, “said John Stephens, Jr., Administrator of the Storage Performance Council. “We are working hard to provide a robust basis for comparing a broad range of products and solutions. The advanced technology that Texas Memory Systems fields will help us further refine our benchmarks and assure that we continue to be the accepted standard for evaluating the performance of all storage systems.”

The SPC created the first industry-standard performance benchmark targeted at the needs and concerns of the storage industry. From component-level evaluation to the measurement of complete distributed storage systems, SPC benchmarks are designed to provide a rigorous, audited and reliable measure of performance. Texas Memory Systems anticipates that future SPC benchmarking will prove valuable to prospective customers and will support its continued development of extremely high performance solid state disk storage.

“Our RamSan customers rely on us to accelerate their application performance,” said Woody Hutsell, Executive Vice President at Texas Memory Systems. “Membership in the SPC is another way for us to measure storage performance of our solid state disks. We can add benchmarks that reflect many of the challenges faced in data center deployments and provide customers with a basis for comparison between products.”
