FSA Names Xilinx as Most Respected Public Fabless Company for 2nd Year

12/10/2003 - Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX), the world's leading programmable logic supplier, announced that the Company has been named as the "Most Respected Public Fabless Company" by the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) for the second year in a row. The 2003 award, which was given at the annual FSA's Awards Dinner Celebration, held December 4th at the Santa Clara Convention Center, recognized Xilinx for its long-term sustainability and technology vision.

Xilinx was chosen from more than 70 public fabless companies in the world. The three finalists, including Broadcom Corporation and NVIDIA Corporation, were selected on the basis of company performance and likelihood of long-term success. Fabless companies, semiconductor financial and industry analysts, and suppliers selected one public fabless company that they most respect in terms of product, vision, strategy and future opportunities.

"This is certainly a gratifying recognition because it comes from our peers in the industry," said Wim Roelandts, president and CEO of Xilinx. "It reflects the dedication and innovation of every one of our employees in how they go about their work every day. We are proud of the success Xilinx has been able to achieve as a pioneer in both programmable technology and with the fabless model."

"Xilinx has always been an exemplary fabless company and one whose performance, accomplishments and business practices have established a standard for all our members to aspire to," said Jodi Shelton, co-founder and executive director of the FSA. "The company stands out, not just for its successful track record of technological and business achievements in the semiconductor industry, but as a 'model citizen' among all publicly-traded companies."
