SofTec Rolls Out Starter Kits for Motorola HCS08 and HCS12 Families
12/4/2003 - SofTec Microsystems unveils a new series of Starter Kits for Motorola HCS08 and HCS12 devices. The Starter Kits take advantage of the Metrowerks CodeWarrior Integrated Development Environment (which groups an Editor, Assembler, C Compiler and Debugger) and the Motorola BDM interface, which allows the download and debug of the user application into the microcontroller's FLASH memory.
Together with CodeWarrior, the Starter Kits provide you with everything you need to write, compile, download, in-circuit emulate and debug user code. Full-speed program execution allows you to perform hardware and software testing in real time. The Starter Kits are connected to the host PC through a USB port. A prototyping area allows you to wire your own small application.
The Starter Kits offer you the following benefits:
- Real-time code execution
- True BDM in-circuit debugging
- Demo area with push-buttons, potentiometer and user LEDs
- Prototyping area
- USB connection to the PC
- Metrowerks CodeWarrior IDE with editor, assembler, C compiler and debugger
The current range of Starter Kits includes support for the following microcontrollers:
- MC9S08GB60 (order code: PK-HCS08GB60)
- MC9S12C32 (order code: PK-HCS12C32)
- MC9S12E128 (order code: PK-HCS12E128)
Each product includes an evaluation board, USB cable, CodeWarrior CD, SofTec Microsystems CD (containing microcontroller-specific datasheets), printed user's manual and a "Quickstart Tutorial" poster.
Each Starter Kit is available for ordering with an end-user price of $49.
