Fujitsu Targets Industrial, Appliance Markets with Solid State Relay
12/1/2003 - Fujitsu Components America, Inc. announced it has expanded its relay offering for the industrial control and appliance markets with the addition of an ultra-slim solid-state device.
Designed for high-density PCB mounting, the new FTR-SL is a 1A, SIP-type solid state relay measuring 5mm (W) x 28mm (L) x 15mm (H). It is pin-compatible with Fujitsu’s existing FTR-LY electromechanical relay, thus expanding the types of relay mounting styles that Fujitsu offers for industrial and appliance applications, such as PLCs, process controls, remote switching, air conditioners, vending machines and photocopiers.
The FTR-SL series offers 5V, 12V, 24V and 60Vdc nominal control voltages ranging from 3.75 to 66Vdc. It can handle a 50A surge and a peak voltage of 250Vac.
As a standard feature, the FTR-SL includes a built-in varistor/snubber circuit to prevent malfunction from overvoltage and/or overcurrent. A zero-cross circuit, which minimizes noise and inrush current, is also standard.
The FTR-SL has a 2,500V dielectric strength between input and output. Its semi- permanent operating life provides a maintenance-free solution.
Available immediately from stock, the FTR-SL is priced at $5.00 in 10,000-piece quantities.
