12/1/2003 - Wintegra, a fabless semiconductor company enabling the next generation of access networks, announced SBS Technologies has selected Wintegra’s WinPath Access Packet Processor as the CPU of choice for a new family of highly integrated communications boards.
SBS Technologies, a leading provider of embedded computing technology, selected Wintegra’s WinPath devices as a foundation for new SBS communication boards as they provide high integration, a wide range of I/Os such as ATM, TDM and Ethernet, plus come with production-quality datapath software.
“Wintegra’s processors were a great fit for our new products,” said Charlie Tompkins, Vice President and General Manager of Communications I/O for SBS. “With these processors we can design a whole family of new I/O systems featuring on-board TDM, Ethernet and ATM connectivity. The fact that all their devices can so easily scale to match our disparate system requirements, yet run the same software, was a compelling feature in deciding to use their processors.”
“It’s always a pleasure to work with a company like SBS,” said Liviu Pinchas, Director of Technical Marketing for Wintegra. “They are a leader in the embedded computing space with their CPU and I/O communication boards and systems. Their adoption of Wintegra’s processors and software for their new systems is a vote of confidence for our architecture and software.”
