12/1/2003 - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a global leader in creating, networking and managing specialized, intelligent devices, announced a licensing agreement with Schindler Elevator Corporation to utilize Intrinsyc's embedded hardware and software technology to collect elevator and escalator usage information for enterprise reporting purposes.
Under this license agreement, Schindler will manufacture its new monitoring system and center the design around Intrinsyc's Linux based CerfBoard platform. The resulting solution is an intelligent data acquisition device that allows Schindler to collect and download valuable data on elevator and escalator operations through a number of sensors fitted to the installation. By electronically managing elevator operations, Schindler is able to support maintenance activities, predict and schedule preventative maintenance, and improve overall customer service and operational efficiency.
