11/26/2003 - Extended Systems (NASDAQ: XTND), a leading provider of mobile application solutions for the enterprise, announced that the company is collaborating with Reply Wireless, a UK based wireless data subscription services company, to deliver quick, secure and cost-competitive corporate email through managed, subscription sales of Extended Systems' OneBridge Mobile Groupware.
Addressing demand from businesses that are not quite ready to invest the time or money associated with internal wireless email deployments, Extended Systems and Reply Wireless are opening the door to a new, global market segment.
"We're offering the corporate email capabilities of a highly sought after, industry proven product on a managed-service, subscription basis, eliminating IT implementation time, server costs, and license and maintenance fees," said Reply Wireless Sales and Marketing Director Robert Silver. "This makes wireless corporate email immediately accessible to businesses of every size and shape."
Reply Wireless is already actively marketing its managed corporate email service, known as Reply Mail, in the UK, France and Italy. Plans for a January launch in Australia are under way. While Reply Wireless will engage in some direct sales of Reply Mail, the company is counting on the strength of its distribution and reseller partnerships for widespread adoption and is actively recruiting new partners for the service. Exclusively offering Extended Systems' OneBridge technology as the core of its Reply Mail service, Reply Wireless has already purchased 3,000 OneBridge Mobile Groupware licenses from Extended Systems this quarter for its customers.
Culver Holdings, PLC, an investment company headquartered in London, was one of the first companies to sign up for Reply Mail. The company was specifically interested in the email push technology and advanced security features offered by the Reply Wireless service but sealing the deal were the low-cost, rapid deployment plan and the ability to instantly reap the benefits of corporate email.
"As soon as we heard that we could get 'push' email quickly and simply on the Palm and iPAQ devices that we already have in house, we knew that we had found the right solution," said Bruce Fireman, a Director at Culver Holdings.
