11/24/2003 - EmergeCore Networks, a leader in the development of high-value, low-cost integrated IT solutions for small business and branch offices, announced that distribution partner MDS in New York sold its initial inventory of the new 'IT in a Box'® all-in-one network appliance, in its initial two weeks. These rapid sales of the IT-100 signal an increasingly strong market acceptance of the IT-100, EmergeCore and MDS representatives said.
In particular, MDS was able to sell its inventory of the 'IT in a Box' in only two weeks due to strong interest in the product's capability among resellers and customers in Puerto Rico.
"The unique characteristics of the 'IT in a Box' solution resonates well with resellers and customers in the small and medium-sized market," said Stewart Lande, VP of MDS. "The product is a compelling value for our customers and has helped MDS achieve a competitive edge and a very quick turnaround on sales, especially in Puerto Rico, where we only recently introduced it with the help of a large reseller. We are very pleased to provide companies with this progressive technology so they can receive higher ROI and company growth."
Dave Brown, CEO of EmergeCore, said, "The rapid acceptance of the IT-100 by VARs and customers shows the viability of the product in the channel. MDS has seen first-hand how great the need and demand for this product is. We take the complexity out of IT for small business."
The IT-100 combines 20 gigabytes of storage Express Setup, Multiple Domains, Web Server, FTP Server, File Server, Alarms, Proxy Server, NAT, 4 Port Switch, Website Builder, eCommerce, Upgrade, Router, Domain Users, DNS Server, Email Server, DHCP Server, Statistics, Firewall, Wireless Access Point, Backup/Restore and VPN services in a single $1,395 device.
For small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) or branch offices, the new IT-100 eliminates the need for costly IT support. Even a non-technical person can set up and manage the IT-100 through the CoreVista Web® browser interface. There's no software installation required.
The GUI windows-like interface of the CoreVista Web® software is so simple that even a non-technical staff member could set up the network in minutes. The resulting network can support PCs, Macintosh workstations, and Unix machines-basically any device with an Ethernet or wireless access point, including laptops, Tablet PCs and PDAs.
