TIBCO Honors Telecom Italia with Operational Excellence Award

11/20/2003 - TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ:TIBX), a leading enabler of real-time business and the leading independent business integration software company in the world, as demonstrated by market share and analyst reports, announced that leading European telecommunications provider, Telecom Italia has been recognized with an Operational Excellence Award from TeleManagement Forum. The Award is the first of its kind from TeleManagement Forum, and honors Telecom Italia's pioneering success in deriving significant business benefits through the implementation of TeleManagement Forum's Next Generation Operations Support Systems and Software (NGOSS) principles.

In May 2003, Telecom Italia's Wireline Unit completed its company-wide rollout of an NGOSS-compliant DSL flow-through provisioning system. The system has the flexibility to handle no fewer than 25 separate DSL-based services and has the performance to comfortably process service peaks of 21,500 DSL orders per day. TIBCO’s market leading integration software was used to ensure reliable information transportation between the new service systems and TIBCO’s flagship Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) product, TIBCO BusinessFactor was used to ensure service level and sufficient business performance in ADSL provisioning.
