Intrinsyc, Tyco Develop CerfPod 255SE-based Industrial Computing Products

11/20/2003 - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a global leader in creating, networking and managing specialized, intelligent devices, announced it has partnered with Tyco Thermal Controls to provide embedded products and technology for integration with their new line of commercial and industrial system peripherals. Under the terms of the agreement, Tyco Thermal Controls will be licensing hardware and software based on Intrinsyc's CerfPod 255SE platform.

Tyco Thermal Controls will integrate the CerfPod 255SE into industrial terminals that interface with intelligent heating and leak detection controllers. These solutions are deployed in a wide range of indoor and outdoor environments including chemical plants, refineries, and commercial facilities to detect leaks, keep pipes from freezing, maintain elevated process temperatures and prevent the formation of snow and ice on walk ways, rooftops and gutters. The resulting solution is an intelligent, networked touchscreen terminal based on the CerfPod 255SE that enables customers to manage their heating and leak detection systems, monitor alarms, capture performance data and configure settings. By electronically controlling these systems using the CerfPod 255SE, Tyco Thermal Controls' customers are able to significantly reduce maintenance costs and improve overall efficiencies for their operations.
