Performance Technologies Unveils Fully Managed ZT 5551 Pentium III SBC
11/17/2003 - Performance Technologies (Nasdaq NM: PTIX), a leader in unified systems design for the communications, military and commercial markets, introduced the Pentium® III-based ZT 5551 Single Board Computer. The ZT 5551 is the next in an award-winning product roadmap for High Availability, Redundant System Slot single board computers and is a direct upgrade of the company’s highest selling CompactPCI® SBC, the ZT 5550.
Performance Technologies’ ZT 5551 adds capabilities for the PICMG® 2.9 Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) specification, which allows for remote, comprehensive management. The single slot, 6U SBC is designed for redundant processing configurations requiring the highest levels of system availability. It includes a 1GHz low power Pentium III processor and supports up to 2GB of memory.
“Management is a critical function for all embedded components, and the IPMI capabilities of our ZT 5551 provide the most comprehensive standards-based management functions in the industry,” said Jennifer Slosar, product manager for Performance Technologies. “The ZT 5551 is the latest of our products to utilize the innovative IPMI specification, on which our recently introduced Advanced Managed Platform line is based.”
The ZT 5551 joins Performance Technologies’ complete line of CompactPCI Pentium M- and Pentium III–based single board computers. Key features of the ZT 5551 include:
- 1GHz Pentium III processor – Low Power FCBGA2
- PCI-to-PCI bridge interfaces to 32-bit or 64-bit CompactPCI operating at 33MHz
- Up to 2GB of PC 133 SDRAM with ECC
- 16MB onboard FLASH
- Battery backed Real Time Clock with field replaceable battery
- 32-bit 33MHz PCI interface to mezzanine for I/O expansion
- Two serial ports with one routed front/rear, second on rear panel only
- On board SM712 PCI Bus Video Controller
- Two USB ports, one front, one rear panel
