11/17/2003 - Voiceboard Corporation released BridgeWay, a cPCI communications controller board providing a combination of 12 radio and operator audio interface channels, VoIP, a T1/E1/J1 network span interface and a standard POTS telephone, all on a single 6U board.
BridgeWay is designed to meet the specific market needs for:
A single BridgeWay board seamlessly integrates communications between existing and diverse radio equipment used by police, fire, emergency response teams and military service operations. BridgeWay supports the requirements of today’s strategically positioned, quick response Homeland Security, emergency services and military operating units, facilitating deployment and crash-net operation any where in the world on a moments notice.
BridgeWay offers advantages in flexibility, performance, cost and space savings over alternate multi-assembly solutions. BridgeWay features include DSP audio processing, I/O channel switching, channel mixing, H.110 TDM interface and intercom/conferencing communications. BridgeWay features a flexible universal interface to all types of radios and headsets. Operator controls include PTT or VOX keyed microphone and radio transmit controls. Each audio channel may be recorded and played back with compression and time stamping. On-board VoIP capabilities integrate BridgeWay supported analog audio devices with packet networks via dual 100baseT ports.
Operator efficiency is increased through BridgeWay’s distinctive left-right channel headset audio separation, foreground/background mixing of all I/O channels, individual gain control on each channel and simultaneous monitoring of multiple channels. BridgeWay delivers distinctive right-left channel headset audio feeds, improving operator capabilities in urban, rural emergency and combat situations. Allowing intercom audio to be heard in one earpiece, while a mix of multi-channel radio traffic is heard in the other earpiece, results in reduced operator workload. Alarm or weapon tones can be heard in both earpieces simultaneously.
BridgeWay can operate with or without a host CPU in a 2.16 PSB or standard 2.1 cPCI chassis. BridgeWay is supported by Linux, Windows, Solaris and VxWorks driver software.
