11/14/2003 - Birdstep Technology (OSE: BIRD) announced it is providing no charge SDKs to promote development of Birdstep’s database solutions that are available on the MontaVista Linux operating system and development environment. Birdstep’s SDKs are available for immediate download from Birdstep Technology’s website (http://www.birdstep.com/downloads/index.php3). Birdstep is simplifying the process for current and potential customers to acquire and use its SDKs. This eliminates the need to purchase the database SDKs, allowing MontaVista Linux developers to start working with Birdstep RDM databases without delay.
“MontaVista is extremely pleased that Birdstep is offering its RDM Embedded database for the MontaVista Linux operating system. This new Birdstep SDK download policy helps our mutual customers quickly develop their applications with Birdstep’s high performance data management products” said Britta Fischlin, International Channel Marketing Manager, MontaVista Software.
“We want our customers who have chosen MontaVista Linux to have the chance to work with our databases at no-charge. We want more people to experience first-hand that we have superior databases with ultra-high speed, zero-administration and a small footprint,” said Tom Clark, Birdstep President and COO.
Birdstep Technical Support Enhancements
Those using the no charge SDKs will also have the option of arranging technical support with Birdstep. The company is offering multiple levels of developer support, from “Getting Started” to “Premium Level”, to address a wide range of support needs. Since most product life cycles last longer than one year, Birdstep is offering product support periods that last up to five years from major product release dates.
