11/10/2003 - Momentum Computer has announced the availability of a new PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) configuration for their popular Cheetah Series boards based on Intel® Pentium® M processors using the newest Intel® 855GME chipset with memory controller. The new model offers a highly integrated, cost effective solution that features lower power consumption and lower parts count that result in especially high reliability. The 1.5 wide (149mm x 110mm) PMC form factor Cheetah-Pr model complies with IEEE P1386/P1386.1 and provides a wide range of I/O and storage interfaces through front panel and PMC Pn4 connectors.
Operating at 1.10 GHz with a 400 MHz processor system bus frequency, the new boards feature two PICMG 2.15 compliant 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet links on the PMC Pn4 connector, Serial ATA interface, USB connectors, front panel HD-15 VGA interface, a 1MB firmware hub and a SuperCap or battery backed real-time clock. In addition to the Ethernet Link/Activity/Speed LED indicators, four user-defined LEDs operate through I/O controller hub GPIO signals. The system can accommodate up to 2 Gbyte of 64-bit DDR333 SDRAM with error checking and correction. Operating temperatures from 0°C to 55°C enable implementation in a wide range of environmental conditions, while compatibility with Windows 2000, Windows XP and Linux operating systems assure functionality in a wide variety of applications.
“Intel’s newest chipset has enabled us to offer our customers an economical PMC board with many high performance features,” stated Momentum’s president, Harry White.
The new Cheetah-Pr systems are available now from stock for small quantities and delivery times of six to eight weeks for production quantities. Prices start at less than $1,500 in OEM quantities.
