11/10/2003 - TransDimension announced that it has been named the 6th fastest-growing technology company in the greater Orange County/San Diego area by the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program. The company’s positive five-year growth rate also earned it a placement of 318th on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America.
Rankings are based on average percentage revenue growth over five years, from 1998-2002. A leading provider of connectivity solutions for embedded USB applications, TransDimension has grown by 824% percent since 1998 to $5 million in 2002. Rick Goerner, TransDimension’s president and CEO, attributes the company’s growth to the global acceptance of its innovative products and the increased demand for the direct connectivity of electronic devices, such as digital still cameras and cellular phones, through the readily available Universal Serial Bus (USB).
“We are pleased to be included in this prestigious list of companies viewed as the fastest growing in Orange County and North America,” said Goerner. “In the past five years we have forged strong customer and partner relationships and have expanded our offerings to include industry-leading silicon and a software solution enabled on a wide variety of embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS). TransDimension has created a unique position in the market as the only complete USB solution on the market and has forged relationships with industry leading OEMs on a global basis. We continue to project dramatic growth as the need for direct interconnectivity of PC peripheral and consumer electronic devices becomes more pervasive in the market.”
Over the past year, TransDimension and its subsidiary SoftConnex have announced design wins with major OEMs, such as Qualcomm, ATI, Motorola, and Samsung. TransDimension has played a key role in the market introduction of USB On-The-Go (OTG) and remains the driving force behind the market adoption of this technology.
“Making the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is a testament to a company’s commitment to technology,” said Mark A. Evans, national managing partner of Deloitte’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group. “With its 824% growth rate over five years, TransDimension has proven that its leadership has the vision and determination to grow in difficult conditions.”
Headquartered in Irvine, California, TransDimension is a privately held company founded in 1997 to develop and market connectivity solutions based primarily on embedded USB applications. TransDimension's product lines include integrated circuits, IP cores and USB-enabling software stacks that enable direct connectivity and I/O for a wide range of applications and mobile devices that until now have required an indirect means, such as a PC host, of exchanging data. SoftConnex, an independent subsidiary of TransDimension, delivers a complete software solution for USB, including the broadest OS and CPU platform support and the largest library of peripheral class drivers available.
