11/7/2003 - Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:CY) announced that it will host a one-hour web seminar entitled “Increasing Network Processor Unit (NPU) Headroom Using Network Search Engines.”
The seminar will focus on how to maximize the performance of a networking system using NPUs. Gangesh Ganesan, product marketing manager for Cypress’s Network Search Engine (NSE) products, will introduce Cypress's Ayama 20000 NSE, which gluelessly connects to commercial NPUs using the Network Processor Forum (NPF) approved QDR-based Look-Aside 1 (LA-1) interface. The Ayama 20000 NSE increases the headroom of the NPU by off-loading key search functionality; its unique set of features allows maximum utilization of the LA-1 interface and minimizes microengine cycles used for search functions.
