11/5/2003 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading provider of test equipment for digital designers, announced new signal analysis capabilities for its TLA700 Series logic analyzers, signaling the completion of the iLink Tool Set, an integrated suite of logic analyzer, oscilloscope and accessories for maximum design, debug and troubleshooting proficiency.
Amidst the constant pressure to stay on product development schedules, engineers are confronting new challenges as they design and debug digital systems. Hardware, software, and firmware domains are becoming less discrete and adversely affecting one another, increasing the number of potential root causes for each elusive error. A failure at the application level, for example, might have its origin in the application software itself, the packetized protocol, the digital logic, or the bus timing. Therefore, design engineers need a more comprehensive view of their systems and new analysis capabilities to better understand system faults.
Tektronix' TLA700 Series logic analyzers address this need with iVerify capabilities, which offer eye diagrams and mask testing for hundreds of signals instantaneously. As part of the iLink Tool Set, iVerify provides multi-channel analysis and validation testing using powerful oscilloscope-generated eye diagrams.
"Today's design engineers need to quickly view and analyze a multitude of signals and large amounts of data, and are often working with high-speed buses that require optimal setup-and-hold sample windows in order to identify and understand faults," said David Bennett, General Manager, Logic Analyzers, Tektronix. "With iVerify, system analysis that was previously limited to a handful of channels at a time can now be performed on hundreds of channels simultaneously, enabling validation testing on a much larger scale."
iVerify is the latest member of Tektronix' iLink Tool Set, a combination of hardware, software, accessories and probes for the Tektronix TLA700 Series logic analyzers, facilitating seamless integration with a Tektronix oscilloscope. iVerify joins iConnect (digital/analog data acquisition through a single probe) and iView (time-correlated, digital/analog display) to complete the iLink Tool Set, a project begun in 2000. The iLink Tool Set provides high-performance, analog/digital probing, acquisition, display and analysis to radically speed the debugging of many signals and ensure the integrity of system designs.
iVerify is now shipping on all TLA700 Series logic analyzers. Existing TLA700 users can obtain these capabilities at no cost by downloading the TLA Application Software Version 4.3 at www.tektronix.com. For more information on Tektronix signal integrity solutions, visit www.tektronix.com/la.
