11/3/2003 - emWare® Inc., the leading provider of M2M solutions for remote device management, Lantronix® (Nasdaq: LTRX), a leader in device server technology and MGE UPS SYSTEMS, INC., a world leader in providing high-quality power solutions, announced they have signed a working agreement to add remote service capabilities to MGE’s full line of enterprise power protection products. MGE is working with emWare to integrate a bundled solution comprised of emWare’s DeviceView Service and Lantronix’ Device Servers with MGE’s Data Center Enterprise Power Systems, which include the Comet 150, Comet S31, Comet Extreme, Galaxy 3000, Galaxy PW and EPS 6000 Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) as well as Power Management Modules (PMM) and Epsilon Static Transfer Switches (STS).
The DeviceView Service is an enterprise M2M remote device management solution that allows companies, such as MGE, to easily, cost-effectively, and securely exchange information with their equipment anywhere in the world. Devices and equipment that are connected to a Lantronix UDS100 Device Server can contact the DeviceView Service and exchange relevant device data. This data is then stored in a database for later retrieval using DeviceView’s enterprise application. Service technicians can access this information to determine the operational status of the remote equipment and take appropriate action if the equipment falls outside acceptable levels of operation. The DeviceView Service also continuously monitors this information and can notify the appropriate personnel when an alert condition exists on their equipment.
“emWare integrated our Comet 150 UPS with the DeviceView Service and had it remotely communicating comprehensive status and management information in less than a month. We were so impressed that we‘re working with emWare to integrate seven more of our products with DeviceView,” stated Alan Katz, product manager for MGE. “Furthermore, we selected the DeviceView Service to reduce our service operation costs while further enhancing our industry-leading service offerings for our customers.”
“We are pleased to work with MGE which prides itself in assuring its customers the highest-level of quality and service throughout the complete lifecycle of their UPS installations. The DeviceView Service only strengthens this position by providing MGE’s service team with the most reliable and cost-effective M2M remote service solution available,” said Michael D. Nelson, CEO and Co-Founder of emWare, Inc.
Reduces Service Costs
The combined Lantronix and emWare solution delivers immediate and long-range benefits to organizations with service operations by cost-effectively accessing, monitoring and maintaining equipment in remote locations. Key capabilities include:
