Kane Computing Rolls Out Products for Multiple Access Communications

10/31/2003 - Multiple Access Communications Limited (MAC Ltd) has recently appointed Kane Computing Ltd (KCL) as their Authorised Distributor in the United Kingdom for their Advanced Signal Processing Engine (ASPE) and the related RF Down-Converter (RFDC).

The ASPE is a single board containing all of the components required to implement the baseband functions of a wide variety of wireless signal processing applications. Using state of the art signal conversion and signal processing components the ASPE offers a high degree of flexibility at a competitive price.

The ASPE is ideally suited for wireless receiver and transmitter applications that demand flexibility, such as test and measurement equipment, spectrum monitoring, signal intelligence receivers and arbitrary waveform generators. Using the ASPE and the RFDC complete radio systems can be rapidly assembled and, through software, customised to the users' requirements.

The core of the ASPE is a field programmable gate array (FPGA) connected to a digital signal processor (DSP), with a universal serial bus (USB) link providing a high-speed control and data interface. This combination of FPGA programmability and DSP processing power makes for a flexible platform suitable for many tasks including the capture of intermediate frequency (IF) signals and the outputting of processed baseband data.

Richard White, Managing Director of KCL, expressed delight that this new relationship has been finalised as it adds important new products to their signal processing solutions portfolio.

Peter Gould, Managing Director of MAC Ltd added that he is very pleased to have forged a relationship with one of the UK's leading distributors of signal processing solutions and he looks forward to the increased exposure of the ASPE product.

KCL is a Texas Instruments Third Party Partner with expertise in advising, supporting and supplying DSP based signal processing design and development packages in the fields of image processing/compression, audio and wireless transmission.

MAC Ltd is an independent private company, founded in 1986 to provide the Telecommunications industry with high quality consultancy and an associated range of products. MAC Ltd is a member of the Xilinx Xperts program, the Texas Instruments Third Party Network and the MathWorks Connections program.
