3ware RAID Controllers Receives Native Support from Wasabi Systems

10/29/2003 - Wasabi Systems announced native support for 3ware RAID Controllers, following the porting of the 3ware API to the Wasabi CertifiedTM NetBSD operating environment.

The RAID Controller support is fully integrated into the Wasabi Storage BuilderTM web-based configuration management tool, which allows OEMs to easily configure a large variety of storage-related devices and peripherals, including iSCSI-enabled SAN and NAS devices. Storage Builder offers hardware RAID support for PATA and SATA drives.

"Wasabi Storage BuilderTM offers exceptional performance and reliability for OEMs building a wide range of storage appliances," said Frank G. Logan, III, President and CEO of Wasabi. "Our support for the 3ware RAID Controllers is another example of Storage Builder's extensive hardware support, which offers our customers the widest possible range of design options."

Wasabi recently announced Certified NetBSD support for the Intel 80314 companion chip, which, combined with an Intel 80200 XScaleTM core processor, provides a low-power, high-performance hardware backbone for storage devices built with Storage Builder.

"3ware is committed to providing customers with broad operating system support," said J. Peter Herz, Sr. Vice President Business Development at 3ware, Inc. He added, "Working hand-in-hand with technology partners such as Wasabi, we will continue our efforts to make it easy for OEMs, system integrators and resellers to deliver scalable, reliable and high performance storage solutions".
