10/20/2003 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading provider of test, measurement, and monitoring solutions, announced its products will appear in the suspense-thriller "Runaway Jury" based on the best-selling book by John Grisham. The film opens Friday, October 17, 2003 and stars John Cusack, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman and Rachael Weisz.
Tektronix' WFM700M and WFM90D waveform monitors, TDS3000 oscilloscope and TSG601 test signal generator will be featured in the "war room," the command center from where Hackman's character, Rankin Fitch, and his crew of consultants, specialists and electronic technicians are able to observe courtroom activity via wireless video and audio devices. The "war room" is depicted as a portable laboratory armed with the most cutting-edge and experimental communications devices and computer hardware and software available today.
"From the outset, the war room was viewed as being both portable and absolutely equipped with the finest high-tech gear, including the latest plasma screens and the most powerful computer processors and electronic equipment," said Susan Safier, Vice President, Product Placement for Twentieth Century Fox. "We wanted to be able to supply it with the best and most up to date test equipment. Tektronix, which the Prop Master has been familiar with for some time, manufactures numerous items that are recognized as the industry standard and which provide a true sense of cutting-edge technology for the scenes that take place in the 'war room'."
"Regency Enterprises' request is evidence of Tektronix' technical innovation in video and electronic test equipment," said Todd Biddle, Vice President, Video Product Line, Tektronix. "By including Tektronix' products in the 'war room' scenes, viewers will gain a sense of what a high-tech lab truly looks like."
