WIDCOMM Provides Bluetooth Software for HP's Latest iPAQ Pocket PCs

10/14/2003 - WIDCOMM Inc., a leading provider of Bluetooth wireless communication software, announced that WIDCOMM's Bluetooth software is featured in the HP iPAQ h4150 and h4350 Pocket PC devices. WIDCOMM's Bluetooth communications software for Pocket PCs, known as BTW-CE/PPC, was also featured in the iPAQ h1940, h2210, h5150 and h5550 models.

WIDCOMM's Bluetooth software provides iPAQ Pocket PCs with an easy connection to Bluetooth printers, notebook PCs, desktop PCs, and Bluetooth enabled phones. Additionally, the software is compatible with the mobile printing software that ships with the HP iPAQ products. This will enable wireless email attachments, documents, and photos to be easily printed from the iPAQ Pocket PC to a Bluetooth printer such as the HP Deskjet 995c and others.

BTW-CE/PPC is fully compliant with Bluetooth 1.1 core protocol specifications and WIDCOMM offers application developers a comprehensive software development kit (BTW-CE DK) to assist in the development of new wireless applications. BTW-CE DK features enhanced user interface, short cut wizards and improved static libraries that significantly shortens the application software development cycle.

"HP's integration of WIDCOMM's BTW and BTW-CE/PPC software for both Microsoft® Windows® and Windows Mobile platforms indicates HP's commitment to Bluetooth wireless technology in the computing marketplace," said Ron Wong, WIDCOMM's Director of Product Marketing. "Visionary companies like HP help drive consumer demand for Bluetooth enabled computers and devices and reinforce the viability of Bluetooth technology in the computing world."
