10/9/2003 - Accelerated Technology®, the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics Corporation, announced that a variety of software developers kits can be downloaded for free on the company’s Web site. Designed for both potential and existing customers, the Nucleus® software kits allow developers to fully evaluate, from their personal computer, the software Accelerated Technology has to offer for use with popular target platforms such as the 68k, ARM, ColdFire, NEC, Nios and PowerPC processor families.
The software developers kits (SDK) consist of an evaluation version of the Nucleus PLUS real-time kernel and the code|labTM embedded development environment (EDE) that includes cross compilers, debuggers and an instruction set simulator (ISS). The SDKs are designed to get the user up and running with the Nucleus PLUS kernel in the smallest amount of time. In many cases, just a few clicks of the mouse will start the demonstration, making this the quickest and easiest way for embedded developers to get started with the Nucleus software.
The ISS included in the kits corresponds with the Nucleus PLUS software demonstration and allows the customer to evaluate both the Nucleus PLUS kernel and the debugging solution independent of physical hardware. Also included is a “Getting Started” application note. This document provides detailed instructions on how to set up the environment and execute the demonstration in the smallest amount of time possible.
“Using the Web provides a very easy method for accessing our embedded technology,” said Robert Day, director of marketing, Mentor Graphics Embedded Systems Division, “Embedded developers can start using our complete suite of tools and the Nucleus RTOS earlier in the design cycle, giving them a head start in their software development.”
Available now, software developers kits can be downloaded from the Web site at www.acceleratedtechnology.com/all_access. (Please note that the SDKs for both the NEC and NIOS processors do not have an ISS included.) For more information, please contact Accelerated Technology at 800-468-6853 or email@example.com.
