10/7/2003 - CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio), a market leader in Bluetooth silicon, scooped the European Electronics Industry's top award to become 'Company of the Year'. The European Electronics Industry Awards held on 24th September in London celebrated rising optimism within the industry. In addition to being named 'Company of the Year', CSR also received the 'Supplier of the Year' award, recognising the company's high-profile design-ins, such as Sony, Microsoft Corp. and Apple.
The Company of the Year award was selected from the individual category winners of Manufacturer, Supplier and Distributor of the Year award categories. The judging panel commented that, "The overall winner stood out for the global reputation it has created for itself as a supplier in one of the challenging and exciting markets – wireless communications."
CSR is one of the world's leading suppliers of Bluetooth technology. In close partnership with the Bluetooth SIG, CSR helped drive the development of the Bluetooth specification with the development of AFH (Adaptive Frequency Hopping) a technology designed to minimise interference between potentially competing RF devices, such as WiFi (802.11b).
