10/6/2003 - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) announced it will host a free, eight-city seminar series featuring analysts from Gartner, Inc. and Compuware experts. Titled "Business Strategies to Build Better Applications Faster," the executive-level seminars will focus on the productivity power of model-driven, pattern-based development--an advanced Java application development approach that has already proven to significantly increase development productivity and the quality of application code. The seminars will be held in New York City, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Minneapolis and Houston from October 8-16.
Business and IT executives from all industries are now being invited to attend these educational sessions where they can network with senior Gartner analysts and Compuware executives. Discussions at the events will highlight the business challenges associated with application development and how businesses are adopting model-driven, pattern-based development to improve their competitive advantage.
According to Michael Blechar, Research Vice President, Gartner, "Some 75 percent of most large-scale Java projects fail by missing both time and budget projections, which means there is a clear business need for increasing developer productivity, flexibility and consistency. Tools that abstract and simplify the foundations of J2EE while providing consistent quality through models and design patterns will be critical to the success of larger Java projects."
Compuware OptimalJ is a leading model-driven, pattern-based Java development environment that gives enterprises competitive advantages and focuses development organizations on key business drivers. "Together with Gartner, Compuware designed this seminar series specifically to help business executives understand the key benefits of model-driven, pattern-based development," said Dan Schoenbaum, Vice President, Strategy, at Compuware. "This is a great opportunity to learn from the experts how an advanced application development approach can improve productivity and provide a competitive advantage."
