10/3/2003 - Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation began operations as the newest addition to the Fujitsu family of companies in North America. The newly formed company is the result of the combined resources of Fujitsu PC Corporation, Fujitsu Technology Solutions Incorporated and some functions of Fujitsu IT Holdings. It will be headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif.
Mr. Toshio Morohoshi, the former president and chief executive officer of Fujitsu PC Corporation, will lead Fujitsu Computer Systems as its president and chief executive officer. During his tenure with the Fujitsu family of companies, Mr. Morohoshi successfully managed the merger of two North American Fujitsu subsidiaries, Fujitsu Personal Systems Inc. and Fujitsu PC Corporation. Under Mr. Morohoshi's leadership Fujitsu Computers Systems will leverage its capabilities by offering a broader range of products and services geared towards achieving higher productivity, efficiency and profitability.
Chartered with enhancing the Fujitsu enterprise business in North America, Fujitsu Computer Systems blends the solutions expertise of the companies, which includes mobile and desktop computers, scalable and reliable servers as well as managed and professional services. As a combined entity, Fujitsu Computer Systems will offer its customers a single point of contact for consistent, high-quality information technology (IT) infrastructure services.
"For Fujitsu, the time is right to integrate its comprehensive IT solutions for the enterprise," said Mr. Toshio Morohoshi, president and chief executive officer of Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation. "Fujitsu customers want a strategic partner who provides a single point of contact that is capable of focusing on an organization's entire spectrum of enterprise requirements. Fujitsu Computer Systems has what it takes to be a leader in this highly competitive market."
The company's IT solutions are built on established industry standards that incorporate "best-of-breed" technologies through alliances with other technology leaders such as EMC Corporation, VERITAS Software Corporation, Oracle Corporation and BMC Software Inc. In turn, by focusing on quality versus quantity, the company's collaborative alliances help ensure Fujitsu customers receive the best technology available to create and manage a business enterprise with a distinct competitive advantage.
Building on the legacy of the companies being consolidated into the new entity, Fujitsu Computer Systems will continue to emphasize customer satisfaction and maintain long-term customer relationships as a key measure of its success.
Joining Mr. Morohoshi on the Fujitsu Computer Systems executive team are Mr. Farhat Ali, chief operating officer and chief financial officer; Mr. Larry Fillmer, executive consultant; Mr. Neil Mortenson, vice president and general manager of Europe; Mr. Dennis Mull, senior vice president, sales and marketing; Mr. Bill King vice president of enterprise sales; Mr. Bipin Badani, vice president and chief information officer; Mr. Don Klenner, vice president of customer service field operations; Mr. Richard McCormack, vice president of product marketing; Mr. Lester Thornsberry, vice president of customer service corporate operations; Ms. Gloria Veon, vice president of human resources; Mr. Kevin Wrenn, vice president of operations; and Mr. Al Zmylowski, vice president of engineering.
