Tektronix's Price/Performance Leadership Redefines Oscilloscope Market
10/1/2003 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), the world's leading manufacturer of oscilloscopes, announced it has added performance and value to its oscilloscope portfolio to meet the needs of its customers in applications ranging from high-speed serial data compliance testing to troubleshooting and education.
Advancing technologies, such as USB, continue the trend of migrating down into the mainstream. At the same time, today's design engineers face ever-escalating design challenges, mounting global competitive pressures to race new products to market and tighter budgets. To address these market trends, Tektronix is offering the industry's best value for oscilloscope solutions, beginning with the introduction of its ultra-high performance TDS7704B and continuing with its announcement of special options for its TDS5000, TDS3000 and TDS1000/2000 Series.
"Despite the economy, customers are still actively developing products and adopting new technologies. Budgets are forcing customers to anticipate their test instrumentation needs in advance - be it hardware, software or accessories - to gain more useful life out of their products," said Colin Shepard, Vice President, Oscilloscope Products, Tektronix. "By adding value to our oscilloscope portfolio, we are giving our customers access to critical measurement capabilities they need - today. Introducing the world's fastest real-time oscilloscope sets the stage for Tektronix to become the industry benchmark in price/performance, providing its customers with the broadest set of choices in oscilloscopes and solutions to meet their application and budget needs."
